Privacy Notice
This privacy notice explains how CouriB handles personal information for launch pilots, including tenant operator roles, driver app GPS use, retention, hosting, cookies, and breach-notification handling.
Responsible Party and Operator Roles
Courier tenants are responsible parties for their delivery customers, recipients, drivers, invoices, tracking, and proof-of-delivery records. CouriB is usually the operator for that tenant data because it hosts and processes the data to provide the CouriB service.
CouriB is the responsible party for its own account, billing, support, marketing, security, and platform administration data. Privacy questions can be sent to privacy@courib.com.
Driver App GPS
The driver app GPS features collect location data during operational use so tenants can dispatch work, monitor active routes, prove delivery progress, and investigate operational exceptions. Driver location history is kept for 90 days by default, then becomes eligible for deletion under the data-retention process.
The CouriB Driver app uses this page as its public app privacy policy URL for store listings and in-app disclosures. The app may collect precise and coarse location, including background location where enabled for active delivery tracking when the app is closed or not in use during delivery work, along with proof-of-delivery photos, signatures, timestamps, notes, diagnostics, and security telemetry needed to operate the service.
The app may also process account and authentication data, delivery assignments, delivery workflow events, proof-of-delivery records, device diagnostics, crash reports, and support information. This information is used to authenticate drivers, dispatch and track active deliveries, provide customer delivery updates, capture proof of delivery, investigate delivery exceptions, secure accounts, support users, and maintain service reliability.
Driver app data may be visible to the courier tenant responsible for the driver's work, CouriB as the software operator/platform provider, delivery customers or recipients where tracking or proof-of-delivery visibility is part of the service, and infrastructure or support providers used to operate the platform.
Hosting and Cross-Border Processing
CouriB's primary production hosting is in Germany. For POPIA section 72, Germany is subject to GDPR, which provides substantially similar protection for this launch hosting model.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
CouriB may use essential cookies for login, session security, preference storage, and service reliability. CouriB may also use privacy-conscious first-party analytics to understand aggregate product and website usage. CouriB does not add a cookie banner for this launch pack because the current posture is descriptive notice, not third-party behavioural advertising consent.
Breach Notifications
If tenant-controlled data is affected, CouriB notifies the tenant responsible party so the tenant can handle its own POPIA notifications. If CouriB-controlled data is affected, CouriB assesses notification to the Information Regulator and affected data subjects.
